Intellect Under Fire
It's astounding to see how arrogant people are about what they don't know. Blows my mind every time... The idiot's hero. It's nothing short of an assault on the intellect... as though logic and deductive reasoning should be shunned and feared, rather than something to emulate and revere.
Thank you for this, Mel.

The country needs to learn how to reach out to those less informed and misinformed and figure out how to talk to them. This is actually a pretty good video that doesn't seek to shame and ridicule, which I really like. Thanks for pointing to it. What I find myself confused and frustrated by is there seems to be no common language that one can speak across party / ideological lines that is convincing. We've turned into a balkanized country. We place ourselves in silos and what we tend to do is listen only to those we agree with, and ridicule the rest. I'm not sure why I'm venting here, but if you hear of anyone who can manage to talk to Palinites and actually build consensus and "agree to disagree" without it devolving into crazytalk, I'd love to hear it.
Joe - I actually couldn't agree with you more. I find myself losing patience too often. I resort to calling them idiots and morons, but that doesn't move anything forward. That's just name calling. And I really need to quit.
So much of what some of some people say is so crazymaking -- making fun is natural. I just know if we're going to have coherent governance somehow we have to learn to find consensus and learn to disagree without making enemies.
Anyway Kevin, thanks for letting me vent. Be well and best to Will!
Joe, you're very welcome. Please feel free to vent here anytime you like.
And my best to Leah too!
These people actually believe what they are saying...
I'n ascared.
