Philip's Fight For Freedom
"I was pretty surprised to be asked a question like that. It made no sense to me. And then finally I asked her, 'What do you think I fought for over on Omaha Beach?'"
Thank you, Dor, over at Mom Goes Green, for this special contribution.

Makes me awfully proud to be from Maine.
It brings a tear, doesn't it?
I'm proud that my big old gruff dad who fought in WWII (Battle of the Bulge as well) always supported my dear gay cousin Jim. Dad was pretty mean with the racial prejudice, but Jim was always welcomed with open arms - even when he brought his crazy Italian BF, Marino to stay for a few weeks. In 1967.
Woman - Brava! You should be. And how much do I love Maine??? Lots. I always have to take my panties off there.
Suebob - 1967 ??? Wow. Right on. I bet Jim was grateful, no?
Thanks for posting this, Kevin - a fleeting glimpse of hope that the GOP are not all mindless kneejerk & slavish rhetoric.
