A Favor?
I was going to start at the beginning of our move from California, and tell you step-by-step, what has happened over the last few months...However, I keep getting sidetracked and now, I would like to ask you all a favor.
My Mother had a total knee replacement in late October. And a complication resulted from it. A blood clot. They had to do a by-pass of the clot, and even though rushing her back to surgery infront of me and my Father at 2 o'clock in the morning scared the pants off us, she actually pulled through like a trooper.
For a week, my Father and I shared a bench and two chairs as our bed in her room and stood guard. And once we got her home, Will shopped and cooked every meal. And Dad and I helped the physical therapist and nurse with Mom's recovery. Even with the complication, her progress was right where it should've been regardless of the blood clot and second surgery. 'Cause that's how she rolls.
So, here is where the favor comes in. There's quite a few of you who check this blog daily, still...You haven't given up on me. And I'm grateful, truly.
Well, suddenly, my Mom isn't doing so well...And they're about 15 minutes from our home. They're picking me up and we're headed back to the hospital...
I STRONGLY believe in the power of prayer, meditation and positive thinking. And whether you're Buddhist, Muslim, Jewish, Christian or Hindi, Wiccan, Agnostic or Atheist, I believe that the way we pray, the way we meditate, the way we think and hope is all tied into the same divine. That God/Universe listens to everyone.
The favor that I'm requesting is to ask you to do what you do...Whether it be praying to Jesus, or in the Synagogue, meditating on the Dharmakaya, worshipping Mother Earth, or kneeling to pray in the direction of Mecca, or simply thinking good thoughts, could you send some my Mother's way?
She's scared. And so is my Father...And so am I. And we would be immensely grateful.

Kevin, I'm a person who prays and I am lifting you and her up in prayer. I will keep your family in my thoughts and prayers -- especially at mass tomorrow. Hang in there!! I too believe in the power of prayer. Please keep us updated, until then know you are lifted up in prayer!
Your mom, your dad, you and Will will be in my prayers until you post that she is well and at home. My mom went through the blood clot thing a number of years ago after having a by-pass operation on her heart. She did well, it just takes a while, so hang in there. Having you and Will there will be very good for her spirits.
Kevy - just talked to Will...I am sending tons of love to you and of course Mama Mo. I'll talk to you tomorrow for an update hopefully... xoxo
Prayers, white light and positive energy for you all. Blessings,
Mary

Oh, sweetie, of COURSE you've got my prayers. My mom just had foot surgery and has been through a very similar experience as your mom with the clotting. I only wish I could have been there with her to help out. (((hugs)))

you had to ask?
love and hearts and love and light.
~om shanti~
Of course. Consider it done.
You didn't even have to ask, my friend. Consider it done. My mom developed a blood clot following major surgery last year and I know how scary that is. And how careful you have to be about your diet (vitamin K?) afterward.
I'm holding you all close to my heart. Until I hear that I don't need to anymore...
Your mom is in our prayers, are is your dad, and both You and Will.
You, and your mom, were really on my heart Sunday morning during our church service. I'm praying for your mom's healing! I especially was reminded of you guys during the song "Mighty to Save" by Hillsong. I know my God is mighty to save your mom, and I pray he will. - Michelle
Coming in late, but wanted to add my support! I'll be thinking of you and your family.
Consider it done.
Your all in my thoughts and prayers
Holding you and yours in the light, my friend.

Hey Kev..it's Jade. I wish you and your family stillness of heart and ever-filling grace! Stay strong.
Sorry Kev...It's Jade again...a favor from you and all that read your blog. My nephew just landed in Mosul, Iraq..please all pray for him regardless of your belief in the war. His name is Jesse.
How's everything going?

Of course. You are all in my prayers.
And now I understand the higher reason you and Will moved there, which wasn't so clear before. I'm very glad you did.
