Rolling In Poppies
You may remember me talking last year about the best seat in the house on Mother's Day? Well, obviously, I still feel that way. And I often feel more numb with each passing day that I remain so far away from my Mom.
So, it's Mother's Day here in the States. And as far as I'm concerned, everyday should be "Mother's Day". Or at least one day a week...or every other week...or at least once a month. All of us celebrating our Mothers with an awareness on a regular basis, whether they're still physically with us or not.
And actually, I'm not sure that many of us don't already do that in some way.
But, anyway, whether you're a mom or not, and whether you're fortunate enough to be celebrating with your mom or not, I hope that your mothers are happy and feeling loved today, no matter where they are... I hope that they know how much they're loved, as I love mine.
And I hope that they're as joyful and content as rolling naked in a field of poppies...minus the dirt, bees and ants. But, just basking in a peace and freedom.

overwhelming talent.
The precious gift I give the woman who gave birth to me? I as far away from her as possible. I do not speak to her or about her. This makes her very very happy.
And when she dies? I'll go to see if indeed it's her body in that box. But that's all. Most likely I'll be chased out of the funeral with pitch forks and fire.
I was blessed to spend much of the day with both my mother and my children! You can't ask for a better day!
Flutter - Will thanks you. He blushed a bit when I told him what a fan you are of his work. :)
Claudia - damn, girl.
Queenie - Sounds like a great day! Glad that you enjoyed it so.
Hugs.
This was wonderful.
And your words with Will's art...You could make a book. Hey....
I have an idea....
Your mother has done a great job...As we all benifit form her hard work in raising such a terrific, wonderful kind, generous, loving personwho adds to humanity everyday of his life!
To Mother Charnas and the gift she gave the world!
~jj! - Thanks, baby. One day, we actually hope to do just that. Even if we're no longer talking. ;)
Pend - Thanks, my friend...My cheeks are blushing. But, I'm not going to tell you which ones...Flattery will get you everywhere. So, I'm just wearing socks right now...and a laptop.
What a great painting and a lovely post. Except I totally read it initially as Rolling In Poopies and I had a real WTF moment. Although rolling in poop pretty much encompassed my mother's day, and every other day. Such is life with two non-toilet-trained toddlers.
Wondeful post. I was doing fine until I got to the picture which very nearly made me cry. Absolutely beautiful.
I'm a bit of a wreck today, as my boy (born on Mother's Day) is turning six.
Guess I'm fortunate in that very near daily my husband tells me what a great mom I am...
Major - It DOES sound like you're rolling in poopies. At least it's temporary, no? I hope so. Although, I've been known to shit my pants since being potty trained.
Gretchen - Thank you, and I'm sorry kiddo...the time just keeps flying by faster, doesn't it? I'm glad that your hubs is a cool one...expressing himself and all.
You are right of course, but I still expect equal time here on Father's Day. Maybe Will can whip up a nice picture of me peeing off the balcony for the occasion.
