Bags
I'm not talking about these kind of bags,

Or this bag,

Or this bag,

But, these damn things...

You probably remember what me and Sharon Stone think of plastic bags? I thought so...probably hard to forget no matter how hard you try, huh?
Well, I wanted to share with you some recent statistics that have come my way.
* 14 PLASTIC BAGS contain enough petroleum to drive a car a mile. (A MILE!!)
* 380 BILLION (BILLION!!) PLASTIC BAGS or wraps are thrown away in America each year.
* Making a paper bag emits 70% MORE GLOBAL WARMING GASES than making a plastic bag.
* 0 PAPER BAGS biodegrade in landfills due to a lack of oxygen.
* Cities spend up to 17 CENTS PER BAG in disposal costs, wasting literally millions of tax dollars.
So, if you're so inclined, please use canvas bags. Or re-use your plastic/paper bags. My parents actually take boxes to the grocery store with them and use those. Or Save the world 1 bag at a time: www.1BagataTime.com.
Or you could even buy one of these awesome bags that Flutter makes herself from plastic bags. They're durable and last.

And like Flutter says, "They are $15.00 apiece or 3 for $30.00 sturdy as hell and totally reusable and also completely a multitasker as it can be used to suffocate annoying people."
See? So many uses. You may email her at: fluttercrafts@gmail.com
We should really all just stop being

weinermobiles and be a little more conscientious and respectful of our home we call Earth. For whether or not it's for good or bad, be rest assured that you DO make a difference. The kind of difference you make is solely up to you.

I had no idea Flutter was making those, how's about that. No seriously, how's about that?
flutter rocks it. i have been using my old ones to contain cat poop. when they're gone, it'll just be me and my 99 cent whole foods bags. what will i do with all the poop then?
I loathe those plastic bags and always ask for paper. BUT...my favorite store no longer even provides paper bags! Canvas bags aren't really practical for me, shopping for a family of four. My 13 year old alone eats his own weight in cereal every day. I'd need like...40 of them for my weekly shopping.
But I like the box idea.
I usually take a bunch of plastic bags back to the market for recycling. I have some canvas bags and I'd say about half the time, I remember to bring them with me. I need to get more. I'm shopping for five people and, like blog antagonist, need about 87 of the stupid things. Although, those Whole Foods bags can hold a ton of stuff.
And I scored an 89 on the laundry quiz. Do I get a gold star?
Thanks love :) as a special for kevin readers, I will sell the bags buy one get one free in the month of march.
The word Bags to me is almost as funny as the word Balls.
I use canvas Whole Foods bags and I love em. Plus I get 10 cents back for every bag I use on my shopping day! Can't beat that.
We have bought 5 large canvas bags from our grocery. At first it was a bitch to get the baggers to use tbem but through perseverance we are finally starting to see less eye rolling when we pull them out in line. I have a family of 5 which included three teens. I have 5 of the bags and can fit a whole weeks worth of groceries in them. It also took a few weeks before we started remembering to put them back in the trunk after bringing the groceries in. Now I love them.
Blog Antagonist,
I know you would need a whole mess of reusable bags and then you would have to keep them somewhere.
You could start out with just a few and build.
Honestly, I have found that the A&P recycled-plastic bags, and other kinds, hold much more than a plastic bag, and never tear through. They hold heavier items also, and hold them up right.
The ones I have switched to actually fold down so neatly that I can store up to 10 side by side in one of the unfolded bags.
