Wisconsin Kind Of Surprises Me...

Ballots cast on gay marriage

Voters in Arizona, meanwhile, refused to change the state constitution to redefine marriage as an institution between a man and a woman. Under the measure, civil unions and domestic partnerships would also have been forbidden.

Arizona was the only state to have rejected such an amendment in recent years.

In total on Tuesday, voters in eight states cast ballots on amendments that would ban gay marriage. Voters in Colorado, Idaho, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Virginia and Wisconsin all approved the amendments.

So yeah, Wisconsin kind of surprises me...not the rest really. I know their story. But Wisconsin, huh...

Look, I don't care what it's called...not the bigotry part - that's still bigotry, but the "gay marriage" part. Call it "Butt-Fuckers-Are-Us Unions" or "Muff-Bumping Partnerships" I really don't care. Call me every name in the book, I just want the same rights, that's all.

I don't really get it at all. WHAT does giving you the right to have a formally recognized union take away from ME? Nothing, as far as I can tell. But obviously someone somewhere thinks it does. I just can't understand people sometimes...

well, arizona surprises me.

someday. someday all the paranoid/stupid people will realize that butt-fuckers and muff-bumpers really are not going to kill them all in the middle of the night as soon as they get an official bit of paper confirming that they are married. someday.

Thanks, you guys... and Mamma - please don't be embarrassed. I'm glad that you're out there, living in an area that needs to learn your tolerant, conscientious, progressive ways. It actually makes me feel better knowing that you care, honestly.

Here, I just much of the time feel like I'm preaching to the choir. It will happen though. I'm confident that sometime over the next 20 years, it will happen. It's already gone much further than I ever thought it would in my lifetime. People are just scared of what they don't know. And sometimes I have to remember to be patient with that...I suppose.

As well you should...EVERYONE deserves to be a chance to be married and miserable :), no matter what your preferences are!
