Uncanny Timing

Wow...I'm truly humbled by the coincidence of the timing of Hussein's verdict and tomorrow's election day. That's just amazing.

Not really amazing... I'd say it was predictable.

I like to think I'm the cynic's cynic but I don't really get this one.

Hypothetical Voter reading newspaper:

Dear God! It turns out Saddam Hussein is GUILTY! To think I was going to waste my vote on a Democrat. How could they lie to me about him? Looks like George Bush was right all along.

Is this a likely scenario?

Yeah, hmmmm, that is SUCH a coincidence. Apparently, it was announced on the last day that the print media could run stories or something like that.

Moobs - the "timing" of the delivery of the verdict. Obviously no surprise in the sicko's guilt. I'm picking with the timing. There's no way that this administration would've let the final verdict be delivered AFTER the elections (today). The republicans need all the help that they can get right now and I believe that the verdict (and the timing of it) looks like progress to more easily pleased voters.

I noticed that. Timing IS everything, obviously.
