Michael J. Fox
If only we could all be as graceful as him...Hail Canada!!!
This comes to us compliments of Pendullum. Again, Hail Canada!!!
My nephew and his girlfriend arrived on Thursday and will be here with us until Monday evening. So, things have been great, though busy. I'm sorry that I haven't had much time to write, but I promise that soon I will tell you all about how I threw shit at a cat and managed to smear it into its fur and also how the dogs tore into an ENTIRE package of my nephew's SPICY beef jerky and consumed ALL of it...yeah. It hasn't been pretty.

Well, good. You didn't throw shit at your nephew or his girlfriend. Or they at you.
See, it could always be worse.
I just cried my eyes out watching this. I don't pity him, I just admire him so much. I would be calling out for Rush Limbaugh's head on a stick if I were him, but no. He's so gracious and big-hearted. When he said he'd thrown vanity out the window, my heart just about burst for some reason. He's so HUMAN. I realize that might sound stupid and obvious, but I feel like he could be my next door neighbour, not Michael J Fox, famous person.
On a side note, Katie asked the most stupid questions, like, "How hard is it?"
Duh, I'm sure it's pretty hard to have Parkinson's, Katie. It's like those reporters who ask, "How do you feel?" when their kid has just died or something.
Sorry for the rant.
Oh, god, is there doggie diarrhoea? And flinging shit at cats is just one more reason for me to love you.*
As for MJF, I love that guy. Love. Him. Way to handle a shitty situation with dignity and tact.
*DISCLAIMER: Melanie owns/is owned by a cat and loves the little fucker; this does not mean she cannot find the inherent beauty in flinging excrement at the little bastards.
Love MJF! What a man of dignity.
Sounds like y'all had fun!

my mom knows Phyllis Fox( not close but well enough) and all i can say is that Michael is a very strong person...one of the sweetest people around...these are the types of people that should really be "aped" if anyone is....in the world of celebrities today.
I have always admired Michael J. Fox. His fame came to him young and he handled it so well - did not abuse it or misuse it as so many "celebrities" do today. This is just another example of what an extraordinary person he is.
He's right up there with Christopher Reeve in his ability to take something other people would consider tragic and turn it into a venue to improve the lives of everyone. I will support his cause as best I can - with money AND with my votes.
Dear Kevin Charnas,
You are a wonderful man...
I sent this video for you to ponder...and good on you to post it...
I think it truly strikes a chord... I respect Mr. Fox in his decision to take your country to live in. I respect that he chose to become an American.I respect the fact that he and his wife chose to have their children in your country... As they must believe in the American dream...
But when he speaks... and Man, does he speak...
He speaks like a Canadian. He can not take away his roots nor his accent, even though it is riddled with Parkinsons disease. It is distinctly CANADIAN.
And we are a respectful bunch... and meek when it comes to dealing with authority... but, man when he speaks... you can hear all Canadians... you can hear us from sea to sea to sea... and through it all, I can hear his accent... and I weep... as I want to claim him... But he is yours now...And for Rush Limbaugh to take advantage of such an illness, well he is yours too!@!!It makes a hometown girl sad and angry... But Micheal J. Fox is stronger than most... and can always hold his head up high, in a strong dignity of the 'true brave strong and free... '
I am proud of him and I am proud for what he stands for... And aren't all of you lucky to have him as an American... As we are lucky to have called him ours for but a brief moment in time...
Wow. I watched all 7.19 minutes of that interview and I was really impressed by him. Rush Limbaugh is a horrible, ugly person for mocking him. I really wish that everyone could be as respectful as MJF on this issue.
Amen brother.
I have even more of a crush on him now than I did when he was Alex P. Keaton.
