This is the headline here.
Now, I really liked Steve Irwin and was greatly saddened by his death. But, it's kind of funny, because I didn't blame it on the stingray. And if he died here?
Or who would've been to blame here? The crocodile for not paying attention to the sign?
I DON'T think that Steve Irwin was a moron, but I DO think that anyone who needlessly harms ANY other life, is. I think that they're spineless, small balled little fuckers that I would like to yank their hair out, scratch their eyeballs, punch them in the windpipe and wipe their faces upon some cement. And I would JUST be getting started.
I read a post yesterday over at Nikki's that really angered me and I'd like to thank Pendullum for encouraging me to link to it.
I've HAD it with people abusing animals...and other people for that matter.

People need to get a life. Accidents happen, but we can't kill every time it does.

am i the only one who knows that my cat iss trying to piss me off when she pees on things? yes? well, ok. then i'll just keep living with the passive aggressive little shit...who shits everywhere. gah.
oh, and last sunday one of the kids in the congregation asked that i pray for the crocodile hunter's family and friends. it was very sweet. i prayed that we hoped he was entertaining God...or something like that.
What do you think he'll be reincarnated as?
What? Was the stingray supposed to somehow magically know that Irwin was just messing with it for entertainment purposes? And since that one was evil and out to murder innocent wildlife conservationists then they must all be doing the same? Honestly, what exactly is the rationale for killing these creatures? Will this somehow make Irwin jump up from his grave and start wranglin' crocs again?
I'm with you, Kevin. I hate anyone that abuses animals- especially when they're just protecting themselves.

Yes...he was a "lover" of animals. He did a lot for them blah blah blah.
But I used to get really upset by his disregard of boundaries...and was not surprised he got offed by one of the ones he was hounding. He should have taken lessons from Cousteau on how to educate about the wild...with respect. (Ohhh..I can hear people groaning already. Come on...BRING.IT.ON)
That said...those people are terrible to kill those stingrays...AND I feel bad for his kiddos and wife.

Jen - actually, you make a really valid point. I can completely identify with your perspective.
People can be so stupid. Like the stingrays have a conspiracy to kill humans or something. "We'd better get them all before they get us!" (Gee, that sounds familiar.)
