Are We Children???

White House said to bar hurricane report

WHY ARE THEY ALLOWED TO BLOCK ANY RELEASE OF ANY REPORT???

I know that they don't block anything because they think that we're children, but I'm tired of everyone acting like it. I wish that the public would be more outraged at the notion that ANYTHING is being kept from them.

So, really...are we a bunch of children?
Or a bunch of sheep?

Its not that they're not outraged...its that no one believes anymore that they can actually change things.

Sometimes I think we've become a nation of lobotomized sheep. CHILDISH lobotomized sheep. Most of us are far more interested in our cool SUV's, cell phones and recreational drunking (not a typo) than we are in challenging the establishment.

You're right. Anything that concerns us, and EVERYthing concerns us, should be accessible to us
w/o censorship.

Our president proves again that the most dangerous people always seek the power in every society. When he begins to care as much about our rights, those that he hasn't already eliminated, as he does about his Image, we can talk.

Ironically, this report, and subsequent supression thereof, came on the heals of Governor Ahhhhnold's signing of a tough new greenhouse gas emission bill. Sadly, that decision isn't getting enough press either.

I just finished reading 1984, and talk about getting a case of the eebie-jeebies! If we don't wake up and pull our heads out of our asses soon, the direction in which this country is headed toward is pretty scary.

Wellll...the government sees as as children. Which is the first steps towards a dictatorship.
I mean just look at how they have decided whether people can smoke and where (I don't smoke but still find the new laws INSANE) and now they are talking about banning trans-fats in foods...cuz ya know...we can't control ourselves and decide what crap to put or not put in our bodies. Soon we will be sending peeps to jail over chewing gum...
I am outraged. And I did not vote for the evildoer that is currently in office...and I am tired of the government sticking it's nose into everything and then also not letting us have pertinent information. And I am tired of the the fuckin media being bought out so that they shut up and...and...
Wellll...you get the picture.

Just another example of the Bush administration's obsession with secrecy and lack of transparency. I don't know if they think we are sheep, or if they just have a tremendous amount to hide.

But as you said... where is the outrage?? Plenty of stuff has come out that should have prompted more outrage. Personally, this lack of outrage outrages me. When I think about all the things people aren't outraged about in this country ARRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGH!

My man has a theory, that they take advantage of a story (in this instance the Steve Irwin tragedy)and they over hype it in order to cover up and "mis-direct" the publics attention from whats really going on. This way whatever horribleness is going on can blow over while the public watches and discusses some lesser horribleness.
